November 27, 2020 – As per recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and the American Dental Association about the COVID-19 virus:
– Our office is open full time to all Endodontic and Anesthesia dental services. Complete disinfection rules as outlined by the CDC are in effect. We have 5 treatment/exam rooms and once a room has completed a treatment procedure, it is fully disinfected with wipes, sprays and replacement disposables. Another treatment room will be used for the next patient while the previous treatment room has enough time to allow for the disinfectants to work properly…often 20 minutes.
– Plexiglass shields are used at the front desk. All employees and patients are required to wear masks except for the exam or treatment procedure by the patient.. All temperatures are taken of patients, drivers, and supply delivery personnel. Our air handling HVAC system mixes 25% of outside air with the internal air to remove virus and bacterial load. High quality 3-M AC filters that filter bacterial, molds and viruses are used and are replaced every 3 months. All floors, restrooms, waiting areas are cleaned on a routine basis.
– All employees and Doctors wear appropriate PPE gear for everyone’s protection.
– Our anesthesia services from mild sedation through general anesthesia are still provided upon patient request. Children’s anesthesia services will be provided by one of our pediatric anesthesiologists. We have hired another Board-Certified general anesthesiologist to handle the new caseload.
– Be aware that calling our office requesting an antibiotic and/or pain medicine for a toothache will not be done without an office visit examination and a correct diagnosis. Existing patients in active treatment will have appropriate prescriptions refilled upon request. Be aware that due to existing federal and state law that any narcotic pain prescriptions cannot be “called in” and must be in written or approved Florida electronic forms..
– Please read the attached document, To Our Patients, which is also on display at our front desk. Proper hand-washing techniques, taking temperatures, and staying home if you don’t feel well are all for “the common good.”
– We appreciate your cooperation during this pandemic, and are here to help.
